first off let me tell you that APPLE sucks for ripping my 10 grand (indian money) for my lameass 2nd generation 2 GB Nano. can't believe i got suckered in like that!

but that was 4 years ago. and i still have the thing. it can view photos and text files. so i was happy. but the 2GB limit of music really got me. i need more.
but then i noticed that my notes, in .txt format did npt appear properly in the nano. i go back and check using my PC and it's all there in the NOTES folder. when i go back to the iPOD,it goes "...." after 16 lines or so.

Q1. can anyone help me out with this problem? is it because iPod does not support text files more than a certain file size?
please tell me

Q1-> I had the same frikken problem with my ipod 5G. I converted my ebooks from pdf to text using a converter then I put them in the notes folder but they just don't show after the first 15-20 lines. Really pissed me off >_<. I just left it at that though, probably someone else can help?

thats cuz any ipod can only hold a 4kb text file as an individual file.

Break the entire textpad file into bits and pieces of 4kb and bundle them into one folder.

There are website that will do his for you - the splitting.

when the "..." comes it actually means end of that specific 4kb file.

4kb = 4096 bits, so that means 4096 characters , spaces included. Hmmm.. interesting...

My i-pod is a pain in the neck as well it suddenly freezes and with a temper like mine...its hard to stop your self from throwing it at a wall
My i-pod freezes whenever I connect it to my computer when there's still some battery left...
Then its of no use...
I have to wait until the whole battery thingey gets over and then charge it again...
And then i-tunes a whole different story it takes its own sweet time to open...And my i-tunes has taken a fancy to majic tricks I think....I have 7 Jonas Brothers albums.....They haven't even released so many

The problem with itunes opening slowly....most likely ur RAM is slow. When i had a 256 mb RAm i had the same prob. Now that i increased it, im not getting any problems.

As for the ipod hanging, try pressing the menu button and the centre button together for 6 seconds. That's SUPPOSED to restart the ipod. Like a re-boot of your comp.

have you tried the RESTORE option in iTunes? it kinda fixes all problems. it restores your iPod back to factory settings so be prepared to lose ALL info(even the Jonas Brothers albums) all music and everything. it'll be like BRAND NEW!

I restored it a million times now I think nothing changed but Aceviper's advice worked......

acevipers solution is temporary. the real problem lies with the probably outdated firmware on the ipod. or it may be somthing as silly as outdated USB drivers.

the 5th gen ipod and some others;
1. they use variable-speed ARM 7TDMI CPUs, running at a peak of 80 MHz(does the job!)
2. The audio decoders used are SigmaTel STMP3550 chip or audio codec chips developed by wolfson microelectronics
3. the ones with a HDD(5th and 6th gen) have HDDS made by Toshiba they are usually ATA-6 with a proprietary interface
4. the flash memory ones have drives usually made by seagate, hitqachi, samsung, toshiba

The ipod is WAY better than any of the competition in the market. it uses top quality audio decoders. if an ipod is playing mp3s@128kbps and is connected to a set of audiophile grade earphones, you may not even be able distinguish it from a cd track!
the ipod has revolutionised the music industry. half of the other players in the market use their own decoders thats why their music quality sucks so much, the only players that some close in music quality are the sony pmps.
