Game of Thrones TV Show Discussion (NO BOOK SPOILERS PLEASE)
I've been following this series with quite a lot of interest for the last few months. The second season is ongoing now, with a new episode aired every Sunday night in the U.S. Torrents for each new episode are available by around 9 am in India on Monday morning.
I'll let wiki do the introduction on my behalf, in case there are people who haven't heard of this series yet. In which case they are either too young to appreciate it, or living in some sort of cave in the paleolithic era.
Game of Thrones is an American medieval fantasy television series created for HBO by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, George R. R. Martin's series of fantasy novels, the first of which is titled A Game of Thrones.
Set in the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, Game of Thrones chronicles the violent dynastic struggles among the kingdom's noble families for control of the Iron Throne; as the series opens, additional threats from the snow and ice covered region north of Westeros and from the eastern continent across a narrow sea are simultaneously beginning to rise
WARNING: THIS SERIES HAS BUTTLOADS OF SAX AND VIOLINS. I don't recommend it to anyone below 18.
DOUBLE WARNING: I Haven't read the books, and I don't intend to, at least until Season 2 and my exams are both done with. So any spoilers from the books are prohibited. PRO-HI-BIT-ED
So, anybody else watches this?

Re: Game of Thrones TV Show Discussion (NO BOOK SPOILERS PLEASE)
I don't mean to encourage piracy here, but seriously, it's a better idea to watch it online or download using torrents, because when it airs on HBO in India it'll be HEAVILY censored. Although season 2 is somewhat less forward in the depiction of sexual content (which is the main thing Indian Censor Boards are worried about) there is often a lot of important plot exposition that goes on during those scenes. Some people call it 'plot sexposition'...
Re: Game of Thrones TV Show Discussion (NO BOOK SPOILERS PLEASE)
Funny enough, the series is starting to branch off from the books, apparently. They're doing it similar to the first season of the FMA anime, it follows the manga and then at one point branched off into its own storyline.
Game of thrones is doing the same. In the previous episode

- Spoiler:
- The Spice King and the Council of 13 in Quarth are all Murdered by the team of Xaro Xhoan Daxos and Pyat Pree. Apparently that stuff doesn't happen in the books.

Re: Game of Thrones TV Show Discussion (NO BOOK SPOILERS PLEASE)
^I'm...really not sure what that means.
Wait a minute.
Is there NOBODY who watches this show? Like, waits with growing expectation for next weeks episode?
Fair enough, I was really late in making this thread, there is only one episode left but COME ON. This is a brilliant series, and I won't be surprised if they win some technical emmy awards for todays episode- Blackwater, which was focused on the battle between the armies of-
Joffery Baratheon
Vs
Stannis Baratheon and dude who looks a bit like Jean Reno (Davos)
Some points of discussion here

- Spoiler:
- (Shouldn't it be Joffery Lannister? or Joffery 'Bastard Surname of the Southron Kingdoms'?)
Vs
Stannis Baratheon and dude who looks a bit like Jean Reno (Davos)
- Spoiler:
Some points of discussion here
- Spoiler:
Tyrion Lannister is a Boss. Peter Dinklage must be really happy to get a role worthy of his skills, rather than the shitty comic relief roles that little people usually get.
Currently the best character on the show, his acting is a reason to watch it in itself.
-The Storylines are currently in varying levels of completion
-Danerys doesn't have her dragons, and she and Ser Mormont seem totally trapped.
-Jon Snow is caught and being brought to Manx Rayder. It's pretty obvious whats going to happen. Jon is going to kill the Halfhand guy so he can pretend to be a deserter of the Nights Watch and go undercover with the wildlings. If I'm wrong (any of you book readers out there) then do tell me.
Thats one spoiler I don't mind.
The series usually ends each season with an unexpected character death. So I'm fairly sure the scene where Jon kills Halfhand will be at the end of next weeks episode. Though since the books and series seem to be splitting up in terms of storyline, I suppose anyone could die.
-Theon Greyjoy is still squatting at Winterfell. Between him and Joffery, it's a tie about who's the most hate-able character of the series. Bran and his brother seem like they'll be hiding there for a while, I don't see much happening in that storyline.
-Rob Stark and Catelyn don't seem to be doing much, that storyline is getting dull.
-The Kingslayer and Brienne going by boat to Kings Landing. Why? I don't know, and I'd like to, before the end of the season.
-Arya and Gendry who've escaped from Harrenhall and now are on the run. What'll happen to them? And Needle, which at last count was in the possession of some Lannister Guard.
-Whats up with Melisandre?
-The Hound totally retreats double quick when he sees people on fire. 'F*** the King' was a line with excellent timing.
Sansa is probably going to go to Winterfell with the Hound. Or try to. Though I don't really like the character of Sansa much.
-Ser Davos seems to have died, and his son as well. Seems to fit in with the creepy stuff that the red lady...Melisandre told him a few episodes back, about how death by fire is noble.
So that's a whole lot of storylines to wrap up, at least with reasonable closure, in one episode. I mean, they can't be thinking of leaving all the storylines on a cliffhanger, that would just be mean.
Also, I leave you with a little screenshot-
Lorell makes it look like a Loreal commercial.
'Because Revenge is Worth It'
Wildfire.
