Plot Summary: Michiru Kita is a special girl who possesses Shinigami Eyes, which allows her to see a dark ring around a person's neck. This ring symbolizes the person's impending death; once they are marked to die, a gray line, which is invisible to normal people, appears on their neck, and once the ring turns completely black, the person dies. Chika Akatsuki and Shito Tachibana, two boys in her class, both have black rings around their necks, but to her surprise, they are not yet dead. It is revealed that after a tragic accident that was supposed to kill them both, the two boys made a deal with a secret loan office called the Zombie-Loan. In return for keeping them alive, the two have to hunt zombies for the loan office. When Michiru gets involved with them, she finds that her life has just become more complicated.

Zombies were never this weird/cool. Forget what you've seen on tv, in the movies, Resident Evil games or even HoTD (Highschool of the dead). You get killed, you can come back to the human world by making a deal with the ferryman and voila, instant zombie (sans all the nasty stuff you know about them) with a human appearance and everything else. Pick an non-valid contract and you become a zombie (the nasty types but with extra powers). And so we have two kids who are zombies with a black ring around their neck, but they want to become human so they need to hunt illegal zombies that fetch a bounty in order to pay the ferryman. Enter girl with Shinigami eyes (nothing like the one in DeathNote) and we have a trio who go on a hunting spree to get rid of the black rings around their necks. Its weird, comical and fun. Sadly or should I say ironically (idiotic would fit best) the producers decided to add two new episodes following a new arc and left it there. Guess its follow manga time if you want to know what happens next.
