Apple's new baby boy, the iPad is here!!

Personally I think its a buttload of crap... but what are YOUR thoughts???

Not really. I would like to reserve criticism for when I see it, feel it, use it. But as far as the features are concerned - http://www.apple.com/ipad/features/ - looks nastily nice!


It seems to be mostly apt for Internet applications and work. Now THAT will depend on the ISP you have, wont it? And THAT in India is a bummer! Cuz our speeds are slow as crazy! Video watching will be as good as non existent. As for music - iPod is quite handy for that. Books and photos - how important can they be, for casual purposes - I mean, its not an "important" factor here. Books, maybe - an efficient way to read eBooks - which they term as iBooks.

But even though I say "nastily nice", the question, then, is, what is here, that I wont have in an iPhone? I mean - at least the iPhone gives me the ability to TALK - it is a PHONE! This - its not a phone. Its basically an iPod with an internet connection - not much use, when I look at the fact that I buy an iPod with the wish to "listen to music without interruption". So then, the next question is indeed, why the huge price tag? For features not really necessary. Lets not look at it from a point of view that says: "It has so many feature". Lets look at it from the point of view that says: "Are these features of any use?".

It has wifi. And Bluetooth. And only 4 GB space. Who are they Kidding? O_o At least put some space in it!

The Chinese already cloned this one. It was out last August.

The first ever time the Chinese Preemptively cloned a gadget.

Its pretty good, awesome actually. Though it does have the i-pod thing in it, its really not something you'll carry to a gym tucked under your arm.
My friend has it...she decided to show off the other day, I nearly DIED of jealousy.
She has some pretty cool apps...
It does everything an i-phone has...and yeah I guess an i-phone is better...
But I still want an i-pad.

I got mine a few days ago, it lacks 3G support(and hence, almost useless since there's hardly any wi-fi spot in BD) and the HD space is only 14GB(my music library is 11GB). I intend to use it for ebooks only. I guess it's not much of a loss since I got it for free.

My dad uses the one with 3G support and 32 GB HD capacity. Ipad is really something if you can use Internet on it. I just wish it had unicode support, which I don't think it has since I can't view unicode fonts in Safari.

IPAD 2 is out, ladies and gents.
And somehow I really don't care. Apple products don't really appeal to me.
But this particular little gadget seems to be shaping up as Steve Jobs Swan Song. The man's been suffering from Pancreatic Cancer for a while now, so it's possible that this is the last gadget he'll be presenting.

I saw the first i-pad...i really am not impressed.=-= other than the fact that there was a santa that repeated everything you said @Rukawa...you know what i mean:P i'd prefer and I-phone anyday ^^
