Chuck Palahniuk
Ever watched Fight Club?(people who are reminded of the hindi version starring zayed khan other morons nicknamed 'actors', go shoot yourself) this the guy behind the story of the masterpiece. his books are total badass types and as he personally describes 'drowing in detail'. innovative is an understatement to describe him. Fight Club might have given you an idea. and then i stumbled on his Choke.
this book about a conman who goes to various restaurants, pretends to choke mid-way during his meals luring good Samaritans into saving his life. now psychologically, when you save someone's life, you feel responsible for that person. so did these saviors for Victor, the protagonists.
unfortunately, i only had a chance to read first 10 pages of the book. that book is like made up of an adhesive. you cant wean yourself away. and he had such a bindaas style, you are so intimidated, you are actually scared of the author who grows on you like
sadly, my library hasn't heard of any such writer.

Yea my friend gave me the Fight Club ebook to me a long time back. But I just never had the heart to read it.Violence isn't really my thing I guess.
I've long since stopped depending on libraries.I've made a habit of reading e-books now-a-days.It's painful and hurts your eyes like hell sometimes but hey atleast this way I can get my hands on any book I want to read.

Re: Chuck Palahniuk
FINALLY! i got the book- CHOKE. read a few chapters. the author has an out-of-his-mind writing style. he has this crude and black humor. he'l write about all the supposedly tabooed stuff. its like 'i give a shit about you, o critic' style. irregular though strangely befitting to the tone of the book punctuations, nihilistic concepts and incidents...you can't read it at a stretch. you need a break at regular intervals otherwise you'll develop a 'whole world is a ghetto' attitude towards the world.
