Yup...one of my favorite classics too!!! I remember reading a children's abridged version when I was around 11 and then I looked for a better version some years later...Ahhh! I loved it so much!!!!!!!!!!

I hated its anime version though - Gankutsuou...ugh...made me shrivel up!

OH SWEET BABY!
DUMBASS!!!!

I meant Dumas!
Ehm... Count of Monte Cristo. Best classic ever! EVAR! Hands down!

He's probably one of the very very few French people I like. The others being Erik Satie and Sophie Marceau.

I didn't read any other work of his. Mainly because I made a lame attempt at reading The Three Musketeers and fell asleep after the 3rd page.

But if I were to like somebody because I liked JUST ONE BOOK he wrote, it has to be Mr. Dumas.

The revenge and betrayal theme is not so common in the classics I've ever seen so far and this one seems to be the best work under the category. I read it as a child, around the same time Jin read it,.... I think. I borrowed it off the school library and it totally rocked.

@Jin: There was even a session sometime around the 7th or 8th class where our English teacher took us to the AV Room and showed us a play on the projector. It was COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO!!! Then they showed Born Free. SUCK! I don't know if you remember it or maybe we were in different classes. But it was pretty awesome even though it was all puppets.

I love the Count of Monte Cristo ! I liked his Three Musketeers and The Man in the Iron Mask (Leonardo Dicaprio acted as the man in the iron mask in the movie Razz). Genius writer!
