Synopsis: The story is composed of several parts. The first part, takes place in the late 1990s and second part in the year 2014. The story of the first part involves a man name Kenji and his childhood friends. They begin to notice strange events around them that somehow connect to their childhood memories. Some one they know from the past is realizing their childhood ideas (bio weapons, mass destruction, and a killer robot) to hurt people. The mysterious man also uses their symbol of friends to create a cult-like organiztion and call himself “Friend”. No one know who this man really is. But for certain he’s set out to destroy this world. And it's up to kenji and his gang to stop him!

Naoki Urasawa has created another gem here! Won't wanna give out any spoilers, but the twists and turns always keep the story fresh and fast paced. No sappy melodrama or trying to win over your childhood heart throbs here. It's a gritty adventure filled world where the word "friend" takes an ominous meaning! A must read for anyone who likes a bit of cat and mouse psycho thrillers.....

In its own way it is very creepy and scary.... Its typical Urusawa fare if you think about it... although it is anything BUT typical when compared to mainstream manga.... Kenji RULZ!!
