Hayate Ayasaki is an unlucky teenager who worked since childhood to make ends meet due to his parents' irresponsible behavior. One day he finds out that his parents were planning to sell his organs to make money, leaving behind a massive gambling debt on his shoulders. While running away from the debt collectors, he ends up meeting Nagi Sanzen'in, a young girl who is the sole heir of the wealthy Sanzen'in estate, and due to a misunderstanding, Nagi ends up falling in love with Hayate. After he rescues Nagi from some kidnappers, she hires Hayate as her new butler.

Aside from performing his ordinary duties as a butler, Hayate must fight to protect Nagi from harm, a difficult task as her life is always in danger because she is the target of other individuals coveting her family's fortune, and sometimes deal with some extravagant requests from her, oblivious to Nagi's true feelings for him.

A hilarious manga. It pulls jokes on nearly EVERY other manga. But the characters are truly too young in this manga. But hey! The story is SO ridiculously funny, I really don't give a damn about anything else.

A real MUST read! It will have you laughing mad!

A bit kiddish and annoying at times... I think it only got interesting around the part when they introduce Athena... problem is that the manga scanslators have left plenty of holes in the scanslations... lotsa missing chapters... pisses me off...

Missing chapters does piss me off too. I end up NOT reading La Corda Doro every time, even though I have it up to date, for the simple reason that the scanslators haven't scanned so many of the in-between chapters.

Yeah... thats why I only try to pick up series with good rates of scanslation or which are already complete.... I miss out on the hot new ones cause of that... but I get to savor the ending... There are some series which I have which are currently incomplete precisely cause of that... I read too fast and then I cant wait for the next scan... take Skip Beat for example... awesome series... but the delay between scans is turning me off...
